The coated diamond grits are manufactured by using an active coating technology which results in a strong chemical bond between the diamond surface and the metal coating. This ensures that the formation of the coating to diamond bond is not dependant on any subsequent thermal process such as sintering.

As a result, metal coated diamond is best suited to the more demanding high power applications where the benefits of increased cut rate can be accessed.
